Math Blog #1

Step 1- Read the question
Step 2- Write down what they want to know
Step 3- Write down what information you know
Step 4- Write down what operations you have to follow (in order)
Step 5- Show your work
Step 6- Write your answer.
Example:
Alyssa rides her bike every day. The trail she rides is 6.5 miles to the end. If she rides to the end and back on the same trail every day, how many miles will she ride in the week?
Your answer should look like this:
Step 1: (check)
Step 2: How many miles she rides in a week.
Step 3: I know that the trail is 6.5 miles one way, and she rides there and back. (there are 7 days in a week)
Step 4: I will add 6.5 + 6.5 to tell me how far she rides in one day. Then I will multiply my answer by 7 because there are 7 days in one week.
Step 5: 6.5 + 6.5 = 13 miles in one day 13 miles x 7 days = 91 miles in  a week
Step 6: 91 miles

Now answer this question:
Alyssa rides her bike every day. The trail she rides is 6.5 miles to the end. She rides to the end and back on the same trail every day. How many miles will Alyssa ride if she rides the same trail every day in February during leap year?

  4. 1.check
    2. how many miles does she ride in Feb. leap year
    3. I know that in leap year Feb. has only 28 days and she rides 6.5 and 6.5 each day
    4 and 5.I will do 6.5+6.5=13 and then 13 times 28=364
6.364 miles Alyssa rides in the month of Feb. on leap year

  5. how many days are in febury laap year = 28
i no the trail is 6.5 miles
so i will add 6.5 6.5 = 30 that tells me how many miles she rides in one day
    than i do 6.5 * 28 = 120 miles

  6. Since Febuary has 29 days in a leap year you would do 6 x 29 = 174.So if you do 5 x 29 = 145 then you put it like this 174.145.

step 3: I know there are 29 days in a leap year.
step 4:I will add 6.5+6.5 to tell me how far she rides in one day. Then I will multiply the answer by 29 because there are 29 days in a leap year.
step 5: 6.5+6.5=13 miles in one day 13 miles times 29 days=377 miles.
    step 6: 377 miles

  9. They want me to know how many miles she rides all togethr in Febuary during a leap year. I know that there is 29 days in Febuary during a leap year. Also I know the trail is 6.5 miles long and she rides it to the end and back. First I have to do 6.5 x 2 to find how many miles she rides in 1 day, then I multiply that answer by 29 and I have my answer. 6.5 x 2 = 13 and 13 x 29 = 377. So Alyssa rides 377 miles in Febuary during leap year.

  11. They want to know how many miles it takes Alissa to ride her bike to school for the whole month of February during leap year. She rides her bike to school every day and it takes 6.5 miles to get there and then 6.5 miles to go back. So she rides 13 miles each day. February in leap year has 29 days in the month.
I know she rides 6.5 miles each way, so I will multiply 6.5 x 2 to get the number of miles she rides per day.
    6.5 x 2= 13
Then, if I take 13 miles and multiply it by the number of days in February of leap year which is 29 days then I will get my answer.
    13 x 29 = 377

    377 miles

    Number 8
